Roslyn, Charlestown
Extension / Renovation
Architect: JT Studio
This Charlestown renovation and forward extension, designed by JT Studio, transformed an older cottage into a more contemporary family home while retaining a connection to its original character. A mix of cladding, recycled brickwork, timber detailing, and carefully resolved level changes allowed the new and existing parts of the home to come together in a cohesive and well-crafted result.
Project Insights

Refining What Was Already There
This project in Charlestown began with a modest existing cottage and a clear goal. Extend and transform the home into something more functional, more refined, and better suited to how the clients wanted to live.

What Causes Delays in a Build (And What Doesn't)
Most delays are driven by decisions made before construction starts, or by factors that sit outside the day-to-day build itself.

The Reality of Mid-Build Changes
Mid-build changes are a normal part of many projects. The difference is not whether they happen, but how they are handled.

What Set-Out Reveals That Drawings Can't
Set-out is where drawings meet reality. What is identified and resolved at this stage often determines how smoothly the rest of the build unfolds.

“The Martick team has recently finished an extension on our house. We highly recommend them for their attention to detail, hard work throughout, advice offered and most of all the communication throughout the process. They’ve made quite a big/overwhelming project for us so much easier and we would have them return for any future projects we plan in a heartbeat.”
